Just sitting in the library, not wanting to go to lab and getting distracted by cracky crossovers and slime-breeding shenanigans. Who even knows if ponies, unicorns and pegasi are supposed to be different species? Someone out there is probably fiercely debating the topic right now.

Both my pony packages came in the mail today. I have five out of six ponies now, in cute plastic tiny size. They're pretty adorable, all perched on my desk and stuff, and I like them already. Getting a Fluttershy isn't easy, so I'm putting it off. Also, I accidentally bid on two Pinkie Pies, so I have a spare. I'll figure out what to do with it eventually.

eBay has served its cosmic purpose.

I think my eBay frenzy is over, I bid on a calendar for 2012 and managed to fetch five out of six ponies. Fluttershy is a lost cause I'm afraid, at least until there's another wave or something. Anyway, whether she is or not, I'd better stop.

Still no news from the lab I want to work at, I'm supposed to hear from them by the end of the week.

My laundry dryer needs a tube thingy to go out the window so that the bathroom doesn't fill up with lint. Also, I bought bedside lamps in Passover (April-ish) and haven't put them up yet.

In more interesting news, I am deathly dull? I think reading my DW could actually, literally kill someone with boredom.

Suddenly I am overcome with a weird listlessness. It might be because I planned on taking a walk out of doors today, and forgot to do it. Consequently I'm still wearing the sweatpants I put on after my "morning" shower at 1 PM. Tomorrow I have classes and Friday I am making a family dinner, so it should go away. Oh! Next week is my first organism lab. It's a dissection, which doesn't thrill me.

Some days I am filled with a vague nameless dread.

Due to

ponyville_trot hijinx, I've been bidding on an MLP:FIM calendar on eBay. This lead directly to examining the new pony models (Gardenia Glow? Hmm) and then even more directly to trying to locate this one lego set I was infatuated with years ago as a kid.

My brother used to have this fantastic castle set with knights and horses. We played with it together sometimes, but because there's a big(-ish) age difference between me and my older siblings, more often I played alone. At a certain point I got a small play set out of the newer series of castle legos that was coming out at the time. It was called the Dragon Masters series and by then I already had my heart set on dragons. The set naturally came with a catalog and the catalog had this spread in it.

Long story short, for about two years I had my heart set on the biggest lego set in the dragon series and I saved up allowances and holiday/birthday gifts devotedly, hoping to amass the legendary-sounding sum. By the time I was starting to get pretty close I was way above the age range of acceptability for playing with lego, and yet not old enough and wise enough to say "fuck acceptability" yet. Eventually I forgot about lego and developed other dreams.

Years later I suddenly remembered this lego set, in the way that one suddenly remembers childhood artifacts, at least if one is me. When I tried to recall what the set that I was in love with looked like, I came up with the strangest amalgamation of all the castle lego sets I had known and loved. Looking at the wiki (of course there's a lego wiki) and other evidence compiled lovingly by devoted collectors, nothing as grand and sweeping as the set I imagined ever existed.

Brains are funny.

Anywho, I'm thinking of buying nine of the super cheap two inch plastic ponies and making the world's first My Little Pony Hannukah Menorah. Good idea, or The Best Idea?

You know fandom has done a number on your brain when you ought to be making an appointment with your pneumologist, and instead you find yourself googling the words "puella pony madoka magica". Just in case.

Never has a fandom been more ideal for crossover shenanigans than MLP:FIM.

All of this happened because I was popping into devArt to check for fanarts of a specific spoilery event in the most recent Homestuck flash animation. Naturally DA was flooded with arts of this specific development and now I can't pick which one I like best and will have to add them all to my favorites. All of them.

Further more this episode has also segued neatly into thinking about what to hang on my apartment walls again.

Did you even read that book I gave you on obscure unicorn history?

The next semester starts on 30/10. I have to finalize my schedule, which I worked on and agonized over all summer. One of the classes I was supposed to take doesn't exist anymore. It's a fairly critical class. Now I'm going to have to make a lot of uncomfortable phone calls and put on my polite voice and all.

It strikes me that, at this point, I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish my degree at this university.

I want to think about something else. I guess I can think about how I slept until 10 AM, got a decent night's sleep for a change, and I'm pretty sure my infection is slowly fading away. I might be healthy by the end of the week.

Grr I need more ponies.

This might be the best episode of the show so far.

This past week I got anonymous kudos on (almost) all my AO3 fics in succession. I am pretty sure it was all the same anon, since there was a hit on my

captchalogue collection, then one each on a bunch of fics that don't usually get much attention. Including one totally obscure Veronica Mars fic.

fannish5: Fanon 'facts'. I'm using the definition of fanon where I can include stuff that's just in my head, as opposed to "not actually canon but commonly accepted in fandom as such."

Lost Girl: Until canon actually states otherwise (which seems pretty likely) I am still assuming that Trick ( possible spoilers through speculation )

Veronica Mars: Despite that it goes against everything canon says, including the trailer for the fourth season that never happened, I think Veronica would make a terrible FBI agent. I see her giving it her all, then being disappointed and burning out after about five years, going back to PIing but with better credentials. I know it's almost painfully noir, but hey, if the shoe fits.

Runaways: 1. To everyone's shock, Chase is the only one who eventually goes to college. 2. Although he'd never admit it, he comes to think of Victor as the best friend he ever had. 3. Molly becomes a superhero under her own name. 4. After her eighteenth birthday, Karolina goes on a traditional young adult 'finding herself' trip... in space. 5. Klara gets used to the whole time travel shtick and ends up settling down in the twenty eighth century.

MLP:FIM: Mr. and Mrs. Cake are Pinkie's second cousins - they share the illustrious laughing Grandma Pie. Pinkie takes much more after her grandma than either of her parents. Her dad was sort of a fluke/black sheep, and her sisters take after him: one inherited the rock farm and the other is an accountant.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Once she proves herself trust-worthy, not to mention entertaining, Ty Lee enters a triad relationship with Sokka and Suki.

junetide gift stories, one of them based on (frankly) my favorite original prompt, and the other on a last minute treat prompt? So lucky!

Oh no! My final grade in experimental psychology is 71, and it's mainly because I didn't have a test booklet to draft my answers, and I got lazy. I am afraid that retaking the test in July might involve a lot of work and actually lower my grade.

Oh yes! The epic Homestuck fic I'm writing on the kink meme is gaining a readership of more than the original prompter!

Oh no! My allergies are delicately and persistently chipping away at my sleep and I don't know why. :(

Oh yes! Yesterday I dedicated the whole day to doing nothing even remotely related to exams. \o/

A bonus question: Has anyone done an edit of PHD comics with Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia, and if not, why not? PHD comics should be to MLP:FIM what Kate Beaton is to Homestuck.

junetide entry is both longer and more complicated than I had anticipate, and has trouble getting to the point. I have no idea where to look for a beta.
