lea_hazel: Don't make me look up from my book (Basic: Reading)

Reviews for The Gaslight Dogs are starting to pour in. Funny thing is, the review mentions two protagonists and explains them in a way that already makes it clear to me that I'll almost definitely have the opposite reaction to them. Almost definitely.

White Guy (because, let's face it) is gonna be all Lee Adama "woe is I, my daddy isn't proud of me" and I'll be like "Yawn, been there, done that" and then Spirit Lady will be like "I have angst because I accidentally kill people, and also, I miss home, what am I doing in this stupid place with this stupid guy?" and I'll be like "♥♥♥".

So yeah.

The best part is, it's not a hardcover, so no waiting for the paperback because it's already out. The worst part is, I am way too busy with school and I just bought some books and I still have a whole pile of gift and loan books I haven't read. Most likely, I won't read it till September or so.

ETA: I have made [syndicated profile] karin_lowachee_blog_feed for follow Friday, although it hasn't started updating yet.

I am also trying to give her the benefit of the doubt,

I assume then that you didn't read my conversation with her regarding how she approached writing her female characters in the Warchild series? All my... doubt was replaced by... something else, after that.
