My Anxieties Have Anxieties

Dreamed that I was taking a vacation to some nameless German city, wandering around alone at night, not knowing what bus to take and looking for a place to exchange currency and buy a map. This is dramatically more disorganized than I usually am when traveling. Also the architecture was bizarrely detailed. It's a bit disconcerting inn retrospect.

I often have such dreams of getting hopelessly lost in some foreign place, but it's usually the States. (I was in the States for two years as a child. On my very first day alone, at the new school, I got lost - and I knew not a word in English. Somehow after some hours I managed to find my way home to frantic parents. )

Anyway, I always wake up highly disoriented and disappointment from those dreams. Those are not really nightmares, but they leave a bad taste and I don't like them.

That's pretty much exactly how my dreams are. It was hard to explain to the sleep specialist, I don't think he understood.

It's one of those things that one has to experience in order to understand, I am afraid.
