Just something I've been thinking about

I live in constant fear of becoming the bubble-dweller that my upbringing, and especially my schooling, encourages. Whenever I realize my own ignorance I feel a pang of horror followed by a flood of relief, because I remember all of a sudden that I haven't surrounded myself with people who never challenge each other.

In other news, Florence and the Machine:

In other-other news, I may be working on a ghost story. Sort of a mash-up of a lot of fairy tales and horror stories about innocent curious people discovering the dreadful secrets of their hosts. Hypothetically this is eventually supposed to be part of the backdrop of the novel I'm percolating.

Heh, I've seen so many fanvids to that song it's a little surreal finally seeing the official video. I think the Madoka Magica one best approximates the original vibe, what with all the creepily pretty sacrifices of young women :)

It's amazing how every now and then a new singer or band shows up who basically produces an endless string of "fandom's unofficial soundtrack" songs. I remember when every fandom used every Evanescence song for everything, and a little before that, a similar but narrower process with Dido.

Heh, yes. And Girl with One Eye really does feel like it was written specifically for Homestuck :)
