Words I Need
Tuesday, 14 June 2011 11:46Sometimes I need words even though they don't technically exist. Doesn't everyone?
(This will remain a protected entry until after
junetide reveals.)
Found in my latest short story:
Googling as a verb, pretty old hat.
Texting as a verb, also not mine.
OpenOffice apparently disapproves of the contraction "that'll". Hmm.
Some names and titles.
"Argle bargle" is definitely a real idiom that I did not make out. Let me just... google to verify. Yup, as real as real can be.
Ooh, here's a good one: palpability. Doesn't show up in MW, for example.
OO also doesn't like "barista" even though it's totally in Wikipedia, an even better source than Google. Merriam-Webster concurs! Definitely a real word.
I'm pretty sure I made up "besocked".
Fuck you, OO, I'm not hyphenating "miswrote".
Timeline. What? That's a real word!
"Tsk" is both a noun and a verb and I regret nothing.
Writing is fun. Sometimes.
