1. The story of a secret agent who has open heart surgery in order to use some of her blood in a necromancy blood rite, and then gets dumped in a ditch and loses her memory. 2. Young people who were raised in a leadership boarding school space station who go back to their homelands to solve all their people's problems, but realize they're strangers there. 3. A woman who gets caught in a Faustian bargain with a wind spirit, and ends up tossed between alliances with temperamental gods. 4. One of those unreliable narrator psychological journey books about a charming but utterly self-destructive protagonist, written as an epistolary novel. 5. An epically epic fantasy novel where the Destined Hero fucks up epically, and the world is saved by someone who chose their own destiny.

Top five myths/fairy tales.

I thought about it and eventually realized that I don't know that many fairy tales, or at least I didn't as a child. I really like The Goose Girl, but that's because it reminds me of Esther's story in the bible, except in the biblical story, the injustice being corrected at the end isn't just Esther's but that of all the Jews in Persia. The only proper fairy tales I can think of are the twelve dancing princesses and the wish-granting goldfish. Oh, I guess the Golem counts, although maybe that's a folktale, because it's supposed to take place in Prague. I would say Beauty and the Beast, because I told myself a story very like it when I was a kid, but in my version the girl never concedes to the man who's imprisoning her. My most recent favorite myth is Ishtar going down to the underworld. So that's five.
