Black Jewels

This is a hilarious review of the Black Jewels books, of which I've read more than one hilarious review before. I'm starting to wonder if I should read these books for the LOL factor, or whether reading them might actually ruin my fun.

Heh. Put it that way, it is pretty funny. I do feel like they exaggerate quite a bit, but then, I'm a fan of the books, and I've always read them as serious rather than comical.

I've only ever heard people talk about them as a guilty pleasure.

I've found that they tend to evoke polar emotions: Either people love them or hate them. I personally think they have quite a bit of depth and that Bishop took quite a few risks in writing the trilogy the way she did.
