I am writing from the university, not from one of the old, slow public computers, and also not from the computer farm, which is for serious work, after all. I'm writing from my new netbook. Yes, indeed, I have become One of Those People. I now own two laptops. It was my mother's idea. At the current settings, the battery lasts almost eight hours, which should hopefully be enough even for my most ridiculous days. Although, I think I might end up still taking notes by hand for things that require graphs, maybe? I'm not sure how effective it is to try and mess around with formulae and graphic features on Word in calculus, for example.
I'm still connected to the guest network. Apparently I need yet another account for the students/staff wireless network, which is more secure and gives me access to subscriptions and so forth. For that I have to go to the computer farm, which doesn't seem urgent. I'll be at that end of the campus tomorrow, anyway.
