I made it! Woo!

Sunday was statistics, principles in biology, a long-ass break and then mechanics. Mechanics is unspeakably horrible, the hours are horrid, the professor is misanthropic, and the subject is plenty difficult even without that, since I didn't take physics in school. Statistics is dull but tolerable, and PB covers cell biology, which is a lot of stuff I know and a bit of new stuff.

Monday was brain & behavior, more statistics, more PB and more physics. With a long-ass break. B&B is by far my favorite class. Too bad it's once in two weeks. The physics exercise is slightly less awful than class, but not by much.

Tuesday is only calculus! It is dramatically less horrifying than I had dreaded. The prof is nice and explains everything in detail, instead of scowling at us and telling us we'll never be real scientists because we're going to fail mechanics. It's a short day! For the next ten weeks, that is. After that, we start organic chemistry, and then my schedule becomes a lot more crowded.

Wednesday is chemistry, physics, more chemistry, and calculus. It's eight hours back to back, with short breaks and barely enough time for coffee. I was exhausted at the end of the day. Chemistry started good, covering stuff I learned, but in more detail. Then we went into quantum mechanics and I got cranky. I liked it better when I didn't know why electrons group the way they do, and my teacher told me I'd learn about that later. Bleh.

Thursday was more chemistry, a long-ass break, and then about eleventy zillion hours of personality theory. We started with Freud, and learning about "female hysteria" put me in a pretty foul mood.

This week I have my first few exercises to hand in, I'm starting experiments (I have to do ten hours this semester) and I want to get a semester bus pass.

Also, I ran out of clear nail polish (or lost it, or something), so I now have black nail polish on. It meshes nicely with my jeans, green tee shirt and extremely demure braid. I look like I amputated and stole a pair of goth hands.

O hey, a few Israeli fangirls (including but not limited to [personal profile] roga, [profile] green_koala_47 and [personal profile] hihoplastic) and myself are getting together in Jerusalem next week to go see the Tower of David light show and then have coffee or something. If you'd like to drop by (since I know you live in the area) and say hi, let me know and I'll send you an email with the details.
