Sometimes I abandon the book.

I once ended up skipping a big chunk of the middle of a book, because I wanted to read the end, but a certain sub-plot was making me very angry.

Depends on how much I'm enjoying the book otherwise. If I'm really liking it, I'll give it a chance. If it's more borderline, I might spoil myself to see if the hated thing will actually happen, then make a decision based on the answer.

I might do that. I've already accidentally spoiled myself for a pretty major twist in this book, so how much harm can one more spoiler do?
