Weird health things.

Health drama involving fingernails behind the cut.
I tore a bit of skin off the side of my fingernail last week. I thought it was the cuticle but turns out that's the name for another part? I'm so confused about fingernail terminology now. Whatever. The point is I tore something while distractedly nibbling on my thumbnail, as I have more than once in the past.
Except this time I apparently didn't clean it properly, and it got infected. On Friday I had to go to pre-emergency to get it taken care of. I'm on antibiotics now, and the thumb is bandaged and looks a lot more dramatic than it actually is.
Five days of antibiotics, topical and oral, and of course I also have to keep it dry and clean. The procedure itself was also not exactly a picnic, but the doctor and nurse were both very nice about it. They also gave me a tetanus shot (which I'm not 100% sure I need, but I wasn't about to argue). Which weirdly enough is the only part that still hurts.
Handling things with my right hand is a little awkward but still mostly possible.
There are more gross details I could give but I'll restrain myself.
