Yuletide 2018 Letter!

If you've arrived at this post and it's still not quite finished... I'm sorry. I am aiming to complete it before the end of the sign-up period, but sometimes life happens.
General stuff: You can read my previous years' YT letters under the relevant tags, but the long and short of it is:
I don't have many squicks or triggers. Dark or angsty is fine, so is light and fluffy and hopeful. As long as the subjects therein are appropriate for the canon, and are dealt with thoughtfully, I'm fine with it. I don't like glamorized or lionized dysfunctional relationships. I don't like characters who abuse or mistreat others with the excuse that it's "for their own good". I'm generally not interested in gore or detailed violence.
Things I love: polyamory, bisexual characters, gender variant characters. Established relationships. Positive friendships between women. Positive but also complex mentor relationships, especially with female mentors. Slice of life used to explore world building. People who are bad at things but very earnestly trying to be better.

Specific fandoms:
- Affairs of the Court: Almost certain I didn't get matched on this, but here goes: the professional relationship between de Vega and the Monarch (male or female) is fascinating to me. I'd love to see what they were like in earlier years, or how they converse when the MC isn't around to overhear. De Vega himself is a dark and morally complex character. How does he deal with the compromises and sacrifices he makes? Does he have regrets? When and if the Monarch is deposed, does he grieve for them, and how? Including other characters (like Juanita, for example) is totally optional.
- Choice of Rebels: Pretty sure I wasn't matched on this, either, but what the hell. I do think Breden is a spy, but I also think their story is more complicated than that. And their feelings for the MC are at least partly genuine, at least part of the time. I'd love any speculation on the subject, even if they get disproven by the sequels, eventually.
- Seven Kingdoms: Yeah, this is what you're here for, isn't it? I had a hard time picking which nommed characters to request, since I love pretty much all of them. Hamin and Zarad are bound to get up to shenanigans together when no one else is looking, especially if the midnight picnic is any indication. I also think either or both of them could have interesting interactions with Lyon, if they were somehow forced into the same social sphere for a day. And I'd always love to see something from Jasper's POV, giving his unvarnished impressions of the other delegates. Even if he is a bit mysterious. You can include your own MC(s) or none at all, it's up to you.
