Food Issues

I've been having some food issues, yesterday and today.
Yesterday I made myself quite ill by putting off lunch. Today I thought would be better. I was very careful and broke for lunch at about one o'clock, and took a small serving of leftovers. But something about the combination of spices and sauce, or the oiliness, or something, put me off and I could barely finish a small bowl of noodles. I backed it up with some other stuff to try and keep my stomach calm but I felt odd and ill in the afternoon anyway. I was worn so I took a nap.
When I woke up I started wondering if maybe the sickness yesterday wasn't all because of missing food, but also I have some kind of infection or virus or something. A "summer flu" like I thought I had a few weeks ago. At first I was pretty dazed and considered getting back into bed with my tablet. Once I was up and about, though, I felt a bit better.
It does bring up the question of what I can readily eat, which is a tangled one. Up until now I knew that when I'm feeling off, anything very oily or sweet, any kind of meat and most kinds of dairy, are off-limits. But I figured vegetable noodles would be fine because I'd never had trouble with them before. And yesterday I couldn't manage an apple. Fruit has never given me trouble before, either. The bottom line is, I can't put off making myself a menu any longer.
I figure I can have a regular menu and an extra careful one, so my diet doesn't become absurdly boring.
Oddly enough the easiest thing for me to eat lately has been potato chips.
And that's all the food talk I have for one day.

2014-09-16 19:13 (UTC)Quick way to check this: to a standard glass (250-300ml) add 1/3tsp of salt, 1tsp of lemon juice, water to the top and mix. If it doesn't make you gag, you're low on salt. Drink until your body stops thinking it's acceptable.
