Femslash Ex: Dear Author
Monday, 16 September 2013 18:35Dear Author,
Please feel free to use as much or as little of this letter as you see fit, and let your inspiration take you where it will.
Dragon Age: Some of these are crack pairings. I'm aware of that. I tried to opt for a mix of obscure and more popular femslash pairings for balance. I like basically everything about these characters. As wardens go feel free to use your own or invent new ones to suit you; I like all origins but dwarves tickle me especially. I'd be obliged if you kept the references to sexual violence no more explicit than the source material, if at all.
As far as characterization goes, I imagine that if you opt to write Merrill then you have a good idea of what I might request: not stupid, not naive, not really innocent either. And if you opt to write Anora or Leliana, then I imagine a dose of moral ambiguity might also occur to you.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: Either book or movie(s) incarnation is appreciated. As far as OCs go you can use any character you like, or cross it over with any fandom you see fit. I like crossovers and I don't mind not knowing one of the fandoms, if the characterization is clear. This is also a canon that has a lot of sexual violence and I would appreciate any references to it to be less explicit than the source material.
Marvel 616: Not having read every Marvel comic ever (or even recently) I only included a few pairings. I've read the entire run of Runaways, Peter David's run on She-Hulk (whence Jazinda the Skrull), and Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men (whence my reference for Kitty/Emma interactions). You can play fast and loose with including characters or events I'm less familiar with, I don't mind. I like Emma manipulative but not cruel. I like Xavin agender or gender-fluid and not lesbian-identified, if the subject even comes up.
The Order of the Stick: This is crack. If you can get earnest drama out of this request I salute you. I do love V a lot and (as above) I prefer both V and Inky as agender, irrespective of physical features.
Veronica Mars: Alternate timelines, "future"/contemporary timelines, missing scenes and pastfic are all equally appreciated. Pre-series Veronica is fine, especially when the series narration is challenged/unreliable. Same notes on sexual violence as above. Bonus note to please not characterize Veronica (or the others) as being broadly hostile to other women. Not that I think that's likely in this exchange.
I like crossovers plenty and I adore fusions so feel free to mix and match as you see fit. Fandoms I didn't list that you might be interested in are Orphan Black, Firefly, Buffy/Angel, Lost Girl, Elementary, Community, Birds of Prey and assorted DC comics... that's about it. My tumblr is anthologyofwhat and it gushes gratuitously about things I like.
