Long Live the Queen: My Intrigue Habit Indulged

This is just me trying to make sense of the convoluted family lines and cross-connections in Long Live the Queen. Massive spoilers, primarily for the history and intrigue skills, but also certain unlockable scenes.


By far the most complicated family line in the game is Arisse's family. It goes like this:

• Arisse, Duchess of Lillah, HBIC.


• Arisse's first husband, the Duke of Mead.


• First husband's son from a previous marriage, the "scandalous" Duke of Mead who left behind a trail of corpses and also banged Julianna's dad for a while. Hes the one who's "dead and buried and not much missed."


• His half-sister, Corisande, current Duchess of Mead and Arisse's daughter.


• Charmion, Duchess-Consort of Kigal, Arisse's daughter, Severin's wife, mother of six children including Linley, a random marriage prospect for Elodie.


• Kevan, Earl of Io, Arisse's son, who has an anger management problem, is currently banging his sister, and was formerly banging his step-dad.


• Arisse's second husband, a commoner who may have had violent tendencies. She divorced him abruptly and may have had him killed, possibly due to the stepson-banging situation.


• Arisse's three kids from the second husband, including Thaddeus and Adele.


• Fabian, Earl of Titan, Arisse's third husband. She presumably married him in order to gain influence on his son, Adair, the prospective Duke of Elath. It worked, too, because her daughter Adele is very close with him. Fabian always votes with Arisse during the Grand Ball.


• Cayleigh, the deceased Duchess of Elath, Fabian's previous wife.


• Cayleigh's mother and sister, who were assassinated by agents from Sedna.


• Erwin, Earl of Ishtar, Cayleigh's father, who is considered to bear some responsibility for the messed up Elath line.


• Briony, Corisande's daughter and Arisse's granddaughter.


• Ignatius, Briony's father and Julianna's brother.

This is by far the largest, most complex faction in Nova. A second faction includes Brin and Banion, and their estranged brother Bennett, who is married to Gwenelle's mother (Hellas, Maree and Sudbury). Then there is Elodie's family, which holds the duchies of Merva, Caloris and Mazomba. If Julianna is Elodie's mentor, she also holds sway over Ursul.
