It was a bittersweet ending I suppose, but better than many. I didn't expect all turmoil to die down, that's not the way of things. Some of the new conflicts took me by surprise.
My Warden was declared a living Paragon, which is something I was dead set on since entering Orzammar.
Leliana left me an option to ask if the hero gets the girl, but I chickened out and opted for the more ambiguous option of asking if she'll be returning from Orlais eventually.
Morrigan vanished with the demon baby. I might fork over for her DLC, I think.
Anora proved a wonderful queen, aside from coming down pretty hard on the Denerim alienage and Shianni, my new favorite civil rights activist. I am made to understand that my Warden underestimated the humans at the Landsmeet, and if she had revealed the slavery scandal, an elven noble would have been appointed to council.
Alistair vanished and possibly became a vagrant drunk. I felt a little meanly spitefully pleased, but I'm not actually happy about it.
Loghain lived.
Lanaya became a leader of the Dalish and an awesome force for peace and compromise, because she's just that cool, apparently.
Wynne became a court mage and she's advising Anora now, which probably helped make her even more awesome.
Zevran and Oghren were both like, Hit me up for adventure later, dude. Okay.
Rica became an ambassador and developed a taste for human liquor. :D
The Warden's mom, who I never met, sobered up and turned her life around. :D
Bhelen became a tyrant, as I expected, although he seems to be aiming for enlightened absolutism style. They were probably aiming for JC, I was thinking of Ataturk. He dissolved the Assembly. He pissed off the Chantry. He's reasonably cool to the casteless, comparatively speaking. The golem technology is gone, but still a threat. He pushed back the Darkspawn in the Deep Roads though, with the aid of casteless fighters, so good for him.
Dagna didn't become a Brood Mother. Instead she became the most awesome dwarf in any fantasy work ever. Forever. Amen.
Connor apparently learned his lesson. I don't know about Eamon though. He holds partial responsibility for Alistair in my eyes.
A Mabari war hound showed up at Anora's coronation, even though I never managed to save the dog.
The people of Denerim love Natia Brosca. :D :D :D
I regret letting Loghain live. Sure it won over Anora, and that's very nice, but it alienated Alistair unnecessarily and I did it on the strength that he would be useful in battle. Also I had hoped he'd managed to get crushed by an ogre or symbol of death'd by an emissary or something. But, he wasn't even on the rooftop. Wynne, Oghren and Morrigan helped my Warden kill the archdemon, and I didn't even need him. He lived to feel pride in himself again, and to lead men to battle, and whatnot, pretty much for nothing.
Next playthrough I'm totally butchering him with extra gore.
The End...

2012-04-30 01:27 (UTC)I was so happy with how things worked out for Dagna, Rica, and Shianni.

2012-04-30 03:49 (UTC)I suppose that if I had leveled up Alistair properly he would have smashed Loghain's head in at the Landsmeet and probably been executed, since it was never a duel to the death. Maybe I will let him do that next time, just to see how Anora reacts. I'm curious how someone who wasn't born to power handles forgiveness.
Anora didn't offer me a kiss as a boon. ;_; I think my Warden has a crush on her, too.

2012-04-30 10:45 (UTC)There is SOOOO much femslash potential in this game. It brings me much joy.

2012-04-30 14:33 (UTC)Dang that's cold. Sort of impressed with BioWare now.
I can't imagine who the game makers think will rule once Alistair and Cousland head to the Deep Roads, though. And they can't possibly have more than ten-fifteen years left in them, plus there's the madness. I wish I could play this situation being arranged by an Orlesian spy to bring down the Fereldan royal line. That would be epic.

2012-05-01 10:22 (UTC)Cousland/Alistair does have that issue, but since it's not a path I've ever played I don't tend to worry about it. Lots of players just say "they had babies because MAGIC". And of course there's always Morrigan's baby as the Secret Heir.

2012-05-01 12:14 (UTC)I'm also kind of rooting for the pairing to throw Ferelden into complete and utter chaos once Cousland/Alistair are out of time because, uh, apparently I like throwing nations into civil war?
But oh your idea of the Orlesian spy is indeed epic. <3<3<3<3<3
