Well, Carbon Is Very Manly

My weird crossover-geekery thought for the day: Most shows have casts like alkanes. The male characters are like carbons, and the female characters are like hydrogens. Even though the carbons can have valence bonds with several hydrogens and other carbons, the hydrogens never form bonds with each other. Why are TV writers underestimating my valence electrons? I have more than one!
