The Joy of Gay Sex
Thursday, 15 April 2010 23:50This is a perfectly lovely and snarky thread about what books to read in public to deter stranger small-talk. As someone who, not unlike the writer, traverses the world in order to achieve things and not for socialization, getting asked "What are you reading?" by total strangers seems really rude to me. Hello? I am trying to read, not trying to talk to you.
Since I am very bad at being the right level of stern and polite, and since I apparently (?) have an inviting face, I'm memorizing all these books. Maybe I'll start carrying around a physiology textbook. Organs make people nervous, right? I can keep it bookmarked on the reproductive system page, especially if there are photos. Alternatively, as the title suggests, I can get The Joy of Gay Sex.
