lea_hazelHello author! *Waves* First of all, per the rules of the treatathon, this post is just a suggestion, and of course I will be happy with anything you write or create. I am actually pretty easy to please!
Things I always like: Female relationships, be they friendship, familiar, rivalry, romantic and/or sexual, nemesis, or anything else you can come up with not on this list. I heart femslash, there's almost no femslash pairing I can think of that I won't love. I have an automatic appreciation for rarepairs (novelty seeker!), and I can easily enjoy a pairing regardless of canon plausibility. Even if two characters never met, or never could meet, if I like them both I'll like their interactions. More fic about minor and/or under-appreciated characters is always welcome, but I picked fandoms where I love the main characters, too. Crossovers are cool, the weirder the better, the same goes for A/Us. If there are no Jewish characters in canon but you want to make a character fanonically Jewish, that is also pretty awesome. Gender-play and genderqueer characters are super awesome. Bisexuality, pansexuality, and everything in between is mega awesome. I love aliens and supernatural beings and characters being weird and inhuman.
I listed my top rating as Explicit. You have all the leeway you want. I am not super into porn though, unless it is pretty heavily tied into characterization. I like angst and darkfic all right, happiness and fluff are far from mandatory. Violence is all right. Fucked up relationships between fucked up people are all right, as long as you don't fluff them up. I am not too concerned about you doing that, though. Age differences squick me out, but usually only if the younger partner is very young when they first meet. It is basically a power dynamic thing, and also it falls under the previous clause: if the fic is supposed to be squicky (uncomfortable, unpleasant, unhealthy) that is just fine. Basically I trust your best judgement.
If you feel like mixing up the crossovers, here are some other fandoms I enjoy but did not list: Digger, xkcd, Gunnerkrigg Court, Shortpacked!, True Blood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marvel's X-Factor (I am usually a month or two behind on comics), DC's Supergirl (although I am not caught up on the last year or so), and The Sims 2/3. There are a few other TV shows I vaguely sort of follow, try the TV tag to see what I've mentioned. If it's not here, though, it's safe to assume I'm not current on it. Everything gets here late!
My favorite characters are everyone in any fandoms I mentioned, more or less. I am less into angsty bad boys than just about everyone else, though. The jury's still out on angsty bad girls (Marquise Spinneret Mindfang, I am looking at you). I will mention a handful of specifics:
Fringe: Moar Nina! I love Nina and would love to see more fic of her. Although I'm behind on Fringe, I plan on catching up before treats are live. A Nina picspam would make me happy, too. I love Astrid too, and alternate!Astrid.
Order of the Stick: Celia!
Runaways: Xavin!
Homestuck: Everyone who isn't the trolls or the Midnight Crew. I mean, I love the trolls and MC as much as the next fangirl, except a lot less. Um. I like them, but not as much as every other character who isn't a troll or a member of the Midnight Crew. I love the kids, I love the guardians, I love the exiles and I would love to see anything regarding them. Sprite edits, recaptioning canon panels, weird headcanon, Homestuck Sims, anything.
Firefly: Zoe! Zoe doing something that isn't grieving for Wash.
Okay, I rambled too much. Bottom line: Just go with what feels rightwhere your heart's up in.
