lea_hazelGood morning, 2011! How are you feeling today? Okay, I realize that you probably only finished celebrating about an hour ago (what up, Pacific Ocean?) and you want to get to bed, but I just wanted to say a few things before you go ahead and get your rest on.
I like you, 2011. I think we're going to get along fine. Sure, maybe it's going to take a little work (from both of us), but all good things do, and I see great potential in this relationship. We've only known each other for about twelve hours, and I was asleep for most of that time, but I've been expecting you for a while and I am pretty pumped.
Now, I don't want you to get stressed out! It probably seems like I'm expecting a lot from you: better grades, more job opportunities, a rainy winter, world peace and so forth. I just want you to know that you can relax. No one expects more from you than you can do. Just do your best and we'll all be proud of you.
You've already gotten off to a good start. I'm not kidding! It rained all last night, well done. Give some credit to 2010, she had a hard time of it but she made an effort and left you the world on a high note, starting with the aforementioned rain. I had a wonderful evening last night, even though the celebration ended well before local midnight.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know, 2011, I'm rooting for you. I know we have a lot of work to do, but I'm optimistic and I think this will turn out to be a very mutually satisfying relationship. But, before that, you need to get some sleep, and I need to do some dishes. See you tomorrow morning.
