The Sims 3: Ambitions

lea_hazelSo I've had The Sims 3: Ambitions for a while now, and I've been playing around with the shipped town, Twinbrook. I still haven't covered even a fraction of the options, though.
My main Ambitions Sim right now is a ghost hunter (eccentric) and her boyfriend is an investigator (preceptive). They have a little daughter who I plan on making a sculptor eventually. Also, they both work on the inventing bench, although they haven't created anything interesting yet, but I'm looking forward to the possibility of a SimBot and/or time machine. I also checked out the tattoo system a little.
There's a lot more to check out. Laundry was fun initially, but with only three Sims in the household is already piling up quickly enough to be a nuisance. The Eco-Friendly trait is nice and provides a lot of fun boosts for little things, and also has the added bonus of making my Sim shower really quickly, which saves a lot of time. Unfortunately, traveling everywhere by bicycle became a pain in the ass really fast, and in the future, I think I'll reserve the EF trait for very compact towns. Wasting almost an hour getting to work is not worth the moodlet boost.
The new model of careers is nice, and moderately self-sufficient. It seems to be a heavy drag on my computer, though, causing overheating and whatnot. I guess no Late Night for me for a while, unless I want to see fire and brimstone bursting forth from my laptop.
There are still a lot of things I miss from TS2, matchmakers and scoping from Nightlife for one. I also miss being able to roll more than one LTW, especially since they seem badly mismatched: in TS2, the boost from completing a LTW was permanent, and then you'd roll another one, whereas in TS3 it's the reverse. It would make so much more sense to roll a second LTW (and third, and forth), if the boost for each one only lasted a week. I also miss aliens a lot, I still prefer them to ghosts a lot. Maybe aliens will show up in a future expansion. And I miss career rewards, although some of the careers still have unique boosts.
I am looking forward to Late Night because it looks like a very well-put-together expansion, but as I said, I don't think my computer can handle much more. Unless I get it cleaned and that improves the situation a lot, or else I create a very minimalistic town and only play that.
