Aborted Geekery

Alas, the fledgling plan my brother and I had of attending a major US geek convention has been set back another year. We were looking at Dragon*Con because it's convenient timing in relation to my school-year (which starts in October because of Jewish holidays), and Atlanta is supposedly really cool. Also, we ruled out SDCC based on the fact that it sounds too crowded and not fun enough. Dragon*Con seemed like a good compromise, a big con with lots of events and guests, but not 10^6 people or six hour lines.

Sadly, we mis-assessed how much in advance we'd need to book everything, and also, Labor Day falls inconveniently close to Rosh Hashana. Plus, I have a second date exam that I'll almost definitely have to take (curse you, electricity and optics!) two days before the con, and my brother's American friends might be attending next year. So right now we're aiming for 2011, when the dates are more convenient. Next January, we'll have to check over again with the exam schedule and book everything in a timely manner.

The good news is, Dragon*Con is (most likely) not going anywhere.
