lea_hazel: Don't make me look up from my book (Basic: Reading)

On Tuesday I went to Tel Aviv and spent some time at the local con, listening to some lectures and panels.

The alternate history panel was very entertaining. The Lilith lecture added only a little that I wasn't familiar with, but it did reignite some ancient love for a story idea that's been lurking in the back of my mind for maybe ten or fifteen years. The lecture on mirroring mainly reflected my already entrenched ideas, but that's okay. The history of Israeli genre writing made me feel predictably guilty that I can't seem to finish a story in Hebrew to save my life.

I didn't get to meet with friends very much, partly due to my own poor planning. And it's about time for me to comprehend that I can't really do full days like that without crashing hard the next day.

Hybrid format was a bit of a disappointment. There weren't as many remote events as I'd hoped. All things considered, I ended up only doing that first day and not trying to view any further events, later in the week.

I posted my review of The Wandering Village, and I'm working on one for Wylde Flowers.

Yeah, I’ve been similarly disappointed in the hybrid events I’ve attended. I know it’s a difficult format to pull off, but don’t like how they feel skewed towards in-person most of the time. Glad there were entertaining panels, though.

The Wandering Village sounds like a cool concept! That first screenshot is very pretty.
