Oh my invisible pink unicorn, it's been a good fic crop this year.

A Beautiful Lie (2243 words) by st_aurafina - Killjoys, primarily Johnny and Lucy. Undoubtedly the filthiest piece of engineering porn I have ever encountered. If you read one Killjoys fic ever, read this one. Perfect characterization, perfect dialogue. Amazing concept. Just fucking read it, okay.

Make Answer to the Clock (1450 words) by Trobadora - crossover between Christabel and La Belle Dame sans Merci. It is exactly as you might expect such a thing to go, lyrical and menacing. A haunted fairy tale. Haunting. Haunted?

Ladies Who Punch (1316 words) by Draycevixen - Hark! A Vagrant. I have a weakness for interactions between Wonder Woman and Lois Lane. Kate Beaton's versions of both collide happily here, in all their disdainful glory.

The Nontraditional Policy (1786 words) by spoilers - Long Live the Queen, Elodie and Briony. Brash teenaged girls taking on the world because no one else can. Somehow they have that childish confidence in their own immortality, while at the same time being aware of how close they came to dying once already. Spoilers for the old palace storyline.

Once a Jedi (1064 words) by Llwyden ferch Gyfrinach - SW: Rebels, Ahsoka and Ezra. A little meditation on the trust issues between the last surviving Jedi in the galaxy, or as close to a meditation as a kid like Ezra can get.

Kiza Apini's Survival Top Ten: Essential skills for life, death, alien planets and dealing with the Entitled. (1872 words) by angelan - Jupiter Ascending. Short, cute and funny, a little first person documentation style fic with lots of sass and personality. The perfect quick hit.

There is more that I haven't gotten to/finished yet, but is bookmarked for later perusal.

And of course!

I wrote A Name Written in Blue-Green Letters, a Neverending Story metafic that I was truly nervous about (especially the end bit). It was very well-received! Which makes me so, so happy. I think in a few months I'll probably be able to reread this and start to feel good about it.

I received Diplomacy and Decisions, a LLTQ fic. It's future-fic and it's intriguey, and exactly the sort of thing I've been craving since I replayed the game. As a bonus it also reminded me to read all the other LLTQ fic for Yuletide, of which there was more than I expected! So that was delightful.

Thank you for the recs! I haven't had much of a chance to go through the Yuletide archive (outside my own gifts), so it's good to have somewhere to start.
