Last night I went to my parents' house. My sister was out, but I watched three shows with my brother. All in all, a good night.
Big Love is a show I just recently got into. I missed the first season and only saw part of the second season, but the third season was phenomenal: fast-paced, nerve-wracking, moving, emotionally wrought. The finale was incredible and I can't wait for season four.
( Some spoilers for season three )
Sanctuary is new. The promo shots were super exciting, but right now I'm in a position where I really want to love this series whole-heartedly, but don't... yet. I'm intrigued, and always thrilled to see fantasy on the screen, but I'm not in love yet. I do think that for an organization that prides itself on an approach both scientific and compassionate, they are awfully trigger happy. The mother-daughter tag team pleases me greatly, but Dr. Magnus's English accent seems gratuitous and unnecessary.
True Blood is... well, True Blood. Like last season, it's intriguing, but slow to start. It emphasized atmosphere over plot. Not that there isn't plenty of plot, but it's definitely on a slow burn course. And the atmosphere is delicious. However frustrating the pace, it does leave me wanting more.
My TV at home still won't work, so I'm wondering if I will miss Mad Men tomorrow. I hope I can sort it out.
