True Blood

Promo pic for the next season of True Blood: Jessica semi-straddling a large snake while gazing lecherously at Sookie. Okay, a purist might say that she's almost certainly staring at Bill, not Sookie, but feh, I say.

Speaking from the part of my brain that isn't drooling and panting after Sookie/Jessica porn fic, judging from the photo I'd say there's an 85% chance that Jessica will try to make the moves on Bill this season. Whoever designed this photo really went all out. Aside from the snake (I mean, really?), the whole lady in red/woman in white theme is just screaming out of the screen.

AFAIK Bill simply not be around this season in Jessica's vicinity so I'd say the lady in red/woman in white is definitely intentional/accurate, but it's more to do with Jessica and Sookie's characters individually than with the Bill thing.

Personally I'm shipping Jessica/Pam hardcore this season, and I've even seen pics of them in the same scene \o/

...randomly I just found out that Kristin Baur (who plays Pam) basically married an IRL version of Eric.

Well, in the book Bill is just absent through 90% of it, because it's Sookie's POV and he's off being kidnapped (and tortured, supposedly). But here the actor is under contract so I'm sure we'll actually get scenes with him in every episode or whatever, he'll just not be anywhere near the main cast (hopefully!)

I'm gonna go with vamp Tara would be bad. IDK, that storyline would seem very blah to me.

Yeah everyone except Sookie in that photo is wearing red and the boys are all wearing blue except for Eric. I AM NOT OPPOSED TO WHERE THIS IS GOING.

LOL well in the books (this is all second hand knowledge btw! Reut's read them all and I get the filtered version) she ~tames him~ and he does change his stance on... everything basically. I'm pretty sure the plot of book 4 is that Eric bumps his head and loses his memory (or gets cursed or something ridiculous like that) and spends the whole book sobbing and curling in on himself and making suka decorations out of colored paper on Sookie's couch, since Pam thinks he's better off there in his condition.

I AM NOT COUNTING THIS AS SPOILERS because book =/= show.

Well the books are both a LOT more full of crack and a lot more romance novel-y (they're also way worse on Issues, if I'm not mistaken Tara's family isn't black and Lafayette shows up for about 3 paragraphs and gets killed off in book 1). I'm told Sookie is a lot less annoying in them than in the show, but in return everyone else is extra... romance novel characters. For one thing there's no Godric. Eric's backstory is that he was turned by a vampire who'd previously been a Roman citizen who wanted Eric as his personal plaything and, it is strongly implied, basically raped him continuously for a good long while while they were together.

On the other hand in book 1 you have a pretty major character named Bubba who follows Sookie around as her bodyguard who turns out to be a Zombified version of Elvis.
