Sitting myself down and giving myself a stern warning that I'm only allowed to commit to Shiny New Story Idea if I'm still in love with it by Arbitrary Date.
Yes and no. My goal is usually to focus on one major story at a time, because I find that splitting my attention does not work as well. It's a pretty cool idea, though.
