Almost all the exams are in the same period, at the end of the semester. Then after the first round, you get a chance to do another exam in the same subject, if you missed the first one or you want to improve your grade. I understand that this isn't a common arrangement in other countries, but here, a lot of people miss exams because they're serving in army reserves. I just call it exam season because I think it's funny.
